Experts Corner: The IWI Zion-15 SPR – A New And Improved Take on A Classic AR15, the MK12 Concept

Unlocking the Potential of the Zion-15 Special Purpose Rifle: Trigger, Rail and Gas System Breakdown

Easy and Efficient ARCA Rail System

The ARCA rail on the Zion-15 SPR makes mounting accessories like tripods, bipods, and bags a breeze. If you’ve worked in the field or a competitive range, you’ll appreciate how much easier it is to swap gear on the fly with this feature.

Smooth Installation with the New SPR Trigger

The collaboration between IWI and Timney brings a trigger that’s both smooth and simple to install. The take-up weight is around a pound and a half, and the break is about the same.

For those of you who’ve worked with AR triggers before, you know that getting those trigger retention screws or pins in can be a pain, lots of finicky adjustments. Not anymore. No more struggling with pins and screws, we simplified adjustments by utilizing set screws. Making adjustments a breeze.

Simple Adjustments for the Gas System

With a user-friendly set screw for fine-tuning, you can easily adjust the gas system on the SPR to match your needs, whether you’re running suppressed or unsuppressed. Adjusting the gas system is simple: loosen the set screw, move the gas adjuster to the desired position, and lock it back into place.

Here’s the cool part, once you adjust the gas system, you’ll want to test it with your suppressor on and off. If you plan on running suppressed most of the time, set it up for that. If you’re going unsuppressed, adjust the settings for that too. You’ll want to ensure it runs smoothly for how you plan to use it.
