IWI US Inc., Firearms manufacturer, located in Middletown is looking for a motivated and reliable worker to join our team. The Lead CNC Machinist must be capable of programming. Produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine for turning centers and multi-Axis mills; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies. This role will be responsible for managing a section of our machining operations.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Ability to read engineering prints. Work from travelers, and verbal instruction.
  • Have the ability to program mills and lathes Comfortable with all aspects of CNC process set-ups, in-process adjustments, proving out new part programs, fluent with machine shop mathematics.
  • Conceptualize and develop fixtures.
  • Knowledgeable of first-run part process, and sample work pieces; adhering to applicable quality, engineering and GD&T standards.
  • Review, understand, and complete all required documentation that accompanies work assignments (including travelers/data packages)
  • Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Possess a dedicated work ethic to expedite all assigned tasks through the department within the guidelines of the Quality Policy and Quality Procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment through weekly and daily 5-S activities.
  • Maintain all required tools, measuring tools to support departmental work assignments.
  • Perform assigned jobs efficiently, with minimal errors and high-quality workmanship.
  • Communicate defects, issues, and concerns with supervisor; seeks guidance/instruction as needed.
  • Adhere to attendance/punctuality standards.
  • Work overtime as required to meet production deadlines.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, standard operating procedures, and safety protocols.

Educational and Experience Requirements:

Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalency (GED) and three (3) years’ experience of setting up, programming, and operating CNC mills and lathes. Vocational or technical training is a preferred.

IWI US Inc., a Firearms Manufacturer located in Middletown is looking for a motivated Quality Assurance Supervisor to join our growing team. The Quality Assurance Supervisor will oversee the activity of the quality assurance department and employees, developing, implementing, and maintaining a system of quality and reliability testing for the organizations products and/or development processes.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible to ensure that the Quality Management System (QMS) is maintained, is effective, and evaluated for areas of continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrate solid understating of statistical analysis, precision measurement, process capability studies and industrial practices!
  • Lead root cause analysis for all internal product test failures or external customer complaints using corrective action teams as necessary.
  • Provide oversight to employees in accordance with good measuring practices using all inspection tools, SOP’s, Visual Aids, and Test Equipment / Hardware
  • Identifies and sets appropriate quality standards and parameters for products with the guidance of senior leadership.
  • Communicates quality standards and parameters to QA team, product development team, and other appropriate employees.
  • Responsible for auditing, compliance, and product quality. Communicate any issues or concerns to the leadership team. Work directly with vendors and suppliers regarding quality issues that are technical in nature.
  • Responsible for the establishment, training, and adherence of procedures regarding inspection and testing needs/resources.
  • Responsible for continuous improvement objectives and goals including but not limited to, the realization of Root Cause analysis, Corrective Action and Preventive Action methods.
  • Partner with the IWI US & IWI IL Management Teams on Research & Development (R&D) projects for products as they apply to the IWI US Market Place
  • Manages the Parts Production Approval Process (PPAP), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), and Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FEMA)
  • Manages Supplier Quality Performance and works with the suppliers in regard to non-conforming product and continuous improvement objectives.
  • Performs supplier/vendor quality audits and visits on a routine basis to ensure standards are being met.
  • Partner with the purchasing team to ensure proper vetting of new suppliers and vendors. This includes visiting vendors and suppliers, when possible, prior to approval of work.
  • Frequent travel to vendors, suppliers, trainings, and other locations as needed to further quality assurance and continuous improvements objectives. This includes the potential for international travel.
  • Maintain communication with operations, production, sales, the R&D department in IWI IL, Purchasing Department, Production Department, and the Senior Management team is critical.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Educational and Experience Requirements:

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in field related and minimum of six (6) years of experience in a Quality Assurance OR an Associate degree in related field, and 10 years of experience of quality assurance experience. Prior supervisor and manufacturing experience required. Experience in the firearms industry is preferred.

The Technical Buyer will work with the Director of Operations to develop, source, and selects prototype suppliers in support of current product offering and new projects and strategic programs during the entire Product Development Process including involvement and ownership throughout the entire product development process.  The Technical Buyer will support project deliverables and ensures suppliers deliver on-time and in-full and will play an integral part in product success by working effectively with various departments to guarantee requirements are met in a timely and budget conscious manner.

Essential Functions:

  • Demonstrated understanding of raw material, forgings, molded plastics, lathe, vertical and horizontal machined parts, and the various machining processes involved.
  • Develops understanding of how to identify and onboard a highly efficient and effective rapid prototype supply base supporting many different manufacturing technologies, including but not limited to additive manufacturing, Powder Injection Molding/Metal Injection Molding (PIM/MIM), springs, stampings, and machining. Minimizes initial prototyping cost for soft tooling and collaborates with Commodity Management if hard tooling is required at any time during the development phase.
  • Read technical documents and drawings to aid in the procurement processing.
  • Prepare and present possible solutions to management when issues arise.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with wholesalers and suppliers.
  • Prepares and processes purchase orders, contracts, and requisitions for materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Maintain contracts with vendors and participate in reevaluation and audit activities in tandem with quality department.
  • Compares bids from vendors and determines, or assists with determination, to whom contracts will be awarded.
  • Reviews cost proposals and pricing information to determine best options that meet needs and quality standards.
  • Researches, analyzes, and forecasts current and future buying trends, markets, styles, and products, with attention to specified target market and demographics.
  • Liaison with Quality Department to ensure timely and satisfactory resolution of vendor issues and grievances.
  • Manages status of related vendor returns, credits, and replacements, in conjunction with finance department.
  • Review open purchase orders with vendors to ensure delivery is on time, of quality, and accurate.
  • Maintain information regarding vendors’ performance and quality of product(s).

 

Educational and Experience Requirements:

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Economics/Finance/Business, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field with four (4) years of experience in logistics, supply chain analysis, or purchasing experience OR a high school diploma or equivalent with eight (8) years of experience in logistics, supply chain analysis, or purchasing. Experience in the firearms or related industry is preferred.
