DETAILS

Prerequisites: a previous pistol course, preferably 2-day or current LE certification. Please inquire with training@iwi.us about your previous course eligibility.

This course is designed to tune up an experienced shooter or create efficiencies in a relatively new pistol shooter. At the completion of the course, the student will have a solid understanding of core skill sets required to efficiently employ a pistol and manipulate the system. This occurs prior to rifle courses as a means of prepping the student for transitions and movement. Your course will be instructed by members of the special operations community and law enforcement.

*This course may require some moderate physical activity.

Core Topics

Core topics that will be covered include:

  • Safety
  • Recoil management and sight recovery
  • Efficient presentations from the holster and alternate positions
  • Reloads (tactical and empty gun)
  • Turns and pivots
  • Shooting on the move
  • Multiple targets
  • High and low probability targets
  • Efficiency in target transitions

Firearms Requirements:

  • Serviceable pistol with at least 5x 15+ capacity magazines or 8 magazines if the weapon utilizes single stack mags
  • Quality holster, not nylon and no Serpa holsters. Magazine pouch capable of holding two magazines.

Students must provide their own pistols.  There will be no rental weapons.


Ammunition Requirements:

  • 400 rounds pistol

  • Seasonally Appropriate Clothing
  • Rain Gear
  • Hat
  • Boots/Hiking Shoes
  • Sunscreen
  • Bug Spray
  • Water Bottle (Suggested)

What does the cost of registration cover?

Cost will cover the course only. The student is responsible for costs associated with travel, lodging, meals (unless otherwise indicated), firearms (unless a loaner is requested), ammunition, and personal gear.

Do I need a background check to attend training?

Yes.

*The background check requirement can be waived if the applicant can provide a copy of their concealed carry permit, issued by their home state, along with a copy of their driver's license OR a copy of their law enforcement credentials and their state issued driver's license.

I don’t have a concealed carry permit. How do I obtain a background check?

Sentry Link offers a National Criminal Background Check for a fee of $19.95 per report.

Once the report is obtained send the report to training@iwi.us to have it included with your registration packet. You can send the report via the “Share” button.

How do I pay for the course?

During the registration process, you will be asked to enter your payment information or voucher code in order to pay for the course. This payment is required to hold your place in the course due to class limits and the management of student / instructor ratios. Cost covers the course only (unless otherwise indicated). Students are responsible for costs associated with travel, lodging, meals, firearms (unless a loaner is requested), ammunition, and personal gear.

Refund/Reschedule Policy:

  • Cancellations: If you cancel no later than 30 days prior to the start of your course, your payment can be applied to a future course for up to one year. If you cancel within 30 days of your course start date, your payment is non-refundable. However, that balance may be applied to another course within one year.
  • Refunds: You can receive a full refund up to 30 days prior to the start of your course. Any amount over $250 is fully transferable or refundable if you cannot make the class for any reason, with or without notice.
  • Reschedule: You can reschedule up to 2 times without penalty. After that you are no longer eligible to transfer your payment to a future course and forfeit your refund.
