Matthew Kalisch served 12 years in the United States Army, 10 of which were as a Special Forces Green Beret. Matthew retired in the fall of 2023 as a First Class Specials Forces Weapons Sergeant. He was a special forces static line jump master, freefall jump master, Level II human intelligence graduate, 3x special forces advanced urban combat course graduate, special forces advanced reconnaissance target analysis and exploitation techniques course graduate, senior leadership course, and master trainer course graduate. During his service, he completed 4 deployments (2x Afghanistan, 2x Africa). He was a master trainer for his team and the host nation’s special forces (Afghan, Nigerian, and Chadian).

Matthew is a two-time Tactical games competitor, finishing third in the Elite division. He has also won many other shooting sports awards, including three-gun, two-gun, USPSA, and precision rifle.
