Safety Information
important safety information
Owning and using a firearm means taking on great responsibility. Not only for you but the people around you at all times, whether the firearm is being used or stored. Safety is priority number one at IWI US. We strongly urge you to read your Owner’s Manual and the Safety Information supplied to you in the in the literature packet included with your firearm. If you are unfamiliar with firearms, seek supervised instruction from a certified instructor.
First and foremost, always remember the Basics of Safe Gun Handling:
- Always keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction.
- Firearms should be unloaded when not actually in use.
- Don’t rely on the gun’s “safety.”
- Be sure of your target and what’s beyond it.
- Use correct ammunition.
- If you gun fails to fire when the trigger is pulled, handle with care!
- Always wear eye and ear protection when shooting.
- Be sure the barrel is clear of obstructions before shooting.
- Don’t alter or modify your gun and have guns serviced regularly.
- Learn the mechanical and handling characteristics of the firearm you are using.
The National Shooting Sports Foundation provides a great deal of safety information free of charge, including personal safety, hunting safety and home safety. IWI US supplies NSSF’s “Firearms Safety Depends on You” pamphlet with every gun.
IWI US includes a quality CA compliant Cable Lock with certain IWI firearms. This lock is intended for use on your IWI firearm and when properly used, will help you secure your firearm from children and unauthorized users. Never attempt to use the cable lock on a loaded firearm. Never insert the cable lock into the trigger guard or trigger area of any firearm. For more information on the proper use of the IWI cable lock, refer to your Owner’s Manual.
IWI US Safety Rules and Procedures:
- Abide by the 10 Commandments for the Basics of Safe Gun Handling.
- Always carry the firearm with an empty chamber and the safety “ON SAFE” to prevent accidental discharge.
- Always handle your firearm as if it were loaded and never take anyone’s word that it is unloaded. Always check yourself with fingers off the trigger and the gun pointed in a safe direction.
- Always keep your finger off the trigger and the gun “ON SAFE” until you intend to fire.
- Do not alter any parts on this firearm. Do not replace any parts unless you are factory trained to do so and then use only original factory parts from IWI US.
- If at any time you notice something about the appearance or functioning of your firearm that does not seem proper or causes you concern, STOP, unload immediately and have it inspected by a factory trained armorer or by IWI US. Contact our Service Department.
- Keep all firearms securely stored under lock and key in a location inaccessible to children and other unauthorized users. Ammunition should be stored under lock and key in a separate location from firearms. For more on safe storage and use, read the NSSF pamphlets “Firearms Safety Depends on You” and “Firearms Responsibility in the Home.”
